Box Office Results

Marley & Me was the champion at the box office again this weekend.  It made another 24 million dollars.  Marley & Me has made over 106 million dollars since it opened on Christmas.  Bedtime Stories was a close second to Marley & Me with over 20 million dollars.  It has made over 85 million dollars.  The top 7 movies are the same.  Eight through ten are different.  A new entry cracked the top 10.  Slumdog Millionaire made it to the top 10.  The movie Spirit slipped out of the top 10.

I was surprised that Valkyrie is still in the top 4.  I thought that the movie would have dropped out of the top 5, but it didn’t.  The numbers are down for the movie, but it still made it in the top 5.  The movie has made over 60 million dollars.  The budget for the movie is 95 million dollars.  We’ll see if it makes its budget.  The movie that’s surprising me is Seven Pounds.  I figured that it would have made more than it has since Will Smith is in the movie.  It’s neck and neck with Valkyrie with over 60 million dollars.   Here are the top 10 movies:

  1. Marley & Me – 24.1 million
  2. Bedtime Stories – 20.3 million
  3. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button – 18.4 million
  4. Valkyrie – 14 million
  5. Yes Man – 13.8 million
  6. Seven Pounds – 10 million
  7. The Tale of Despereaux – 7.02 million
  8. Doubt – 5.03 million
  9. The Day the Earth Stood Still – 4.85 million
  10. Slumdog Millionaire – 4.77 million
