Academy Award Nominees
The Academy Award nominees were announced today. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button got 13 nominations including nods for best actor, best supporting actress, and best picture. Slumdog Millionaire got 10 nominations including a nod for best picture. The movie didn’t get any acting nominations. As expected, Heath Ledger was nominated for best supporting actor for his work in Dark Knight. I was surprised that Mickey Rourke received a best actor nomination for his work in The Wrestler. He hasn’t done much work in years so this was a great comeback for him. The awards will be given out on Sunday, February 22, 2009.

I wonder if there will be any peace in the Brad Pitt/Angelina Jolie home if one wins the award and the other doesn’t. To be a fly on that wall. I guess we’ll find out when the awards are given out in February.

I haven’t seen Benjamin Bratt yet. Heard it was good. I thought for sure Clint Eastwood would be nominated.
I haven’t seen Benjamin Bratt either. I thought that Clint Eastwood would have gotten a nomination too.
I am waiting to see if A.R.Rahman wins in any of the three nominations he has got! I love his music.Hope you hear his music soon.
I was so disappointed not to see The Dark Knight in the list of Best Movie… But then I haven’t really most of the others nominated, so I guess I can’t judge just that way!
Got to check them out when I’m on my break.
I haven’t heard of A.R. Rahman. I will try and look for some information on the music, arthi.
I was really expecting Dark Knight to be nominated for Best Picture. There was so much buzz about it that I just knew it would have been picked.
I have not seen it yet, but I probably will. I was a bit surpirsed it didn’t win any awards for acting.
I will try to see it too, mickie.
