Miley Cyrus in hot water

miley-cyrus.jpg

Miley Cyrus has found herself mixed up in controversy.  There is a photo of her mocking Asian people.  She and her friends were posing in a picture together.  In the picture, she and her friends were pulling their eyes back.  The weird thing is, one of the people in the picture was Asian.  She is now in hot water with racial equality groups.

According to the chief executive of the OCA (a group dedicated to advancing the social, political and economic well-being of Asian Pacific Americans), Miley and her friends encouraged and legitimized the mocking of Asian people.  She also insulted her Asian fans.  The racial equality groups are hoping that Miley apologizes for what she has done.  They also want her to understand why she was wrong for doing what she did and why it was offensive.  For some reason, Miley hasn’t commented about this as of yet.

I’m surprised that Miley would be a part of something like this.  It wasn’t that long ago when she got bad publicity for posing in racy pictures in a magazine.  Now she has done something like this that could hurt her career worse than the pictures did.  I think this is inexcusable behavior.  They should all be ashamed of themselves.  Luckily for her friends they won’t get the heat that she’s going to get for it.  I’m pretty sure she knows that she has Asian fans so she shouldn’t have taken the risk of doing something like that.  As much as the press hounds her, she should have known not to take a picture like that.  She also has an Asian friend so she should have known not to do that.  Hopefully she is not starting a trend.  She has a young fan base who may end up doing the same thing she did.  She is still kind of new to the entertainment business to end up losing her career this way.  She’s only 16 and could end up a has been really fast by doing stunts like this.  I’m shocked that her reps didn’t have a comment for this right away.  I’m sure that will change soon because makes her look bad.

I hope her parents can do something about her actions, but it seems as if they are struggling with it. It is too bad because so many young girls look up to her. I am really shocked about this, granted she is young, but like you mentioned when of her friends was Asian, and for someone who is in the public eye so much she should know better.

I think these racial groups are taking it to extremes but, if she was being racial then that is not on. It all depends how she meant it because if it was light hearted she should be given the benefit of the doubt, but if on the other hand she was being racist then she should be made an example out of. Celebrities should not abuse their position with the public in this way.

Many kids here in India almost idolize her and such a behaviour from her will distort young minds and make her lose a huge fan following..She need to understand why her action was bad before apologising..Else her apology won’t be a serious one..

You are such a sweet person you cheer me up all the time you put a smile on my face. I sometimes wonder if anyone else reads this blog like you do because you always leave a lovely comment for me whereas nobody else ever seems to do that. Maybe it is to do with me as I do try to comment on other blogs, but time is always an issue. I have 2 blogs plus 3 if you count the new Navigator fashion site, I’m a full time mother and a musical theatre student. Then other people seem to make time to comment on other blogs. I just wanted to come on over and say thanks because you have helped me more than you know and when you say such nice things it gives me the motivation to carry on and continue writing. So a great big thanks to you from the bottom of my heart. You also do an awesome job with your blog. There is always something interesting to read and I love coming here and keeping up with the celeb world.

    Best Regards
