Locklear Will Not Star On Melrose Place

Actress Heather Locklear was offered the chance to star on the new version of Melrose Place.  She turned down the offer to reprise her role as Amanda Woodward.  She claimed that it didn’t make sense to bring her character back on to the show.

I was a big fan of the original version of the show so I am interested in tuning in to see the updated version.  I would have liked to have seen her character on the new version of the show because Amanda was one of my favorite characters on Melrose Place.  I am a little disappointed that she won’t be reprising her role after all. I had read that she was close to signing on to do the show only to find out that she won’t be returning after all.

I wonder why she would turn down an opportunity to have a role on a TV show.  By Hollywood’s standards, she is considered “old” because she is a woman over 40. I don’t think that she’s old, but for some reason, Hollywood casting agents consider you old when you are 40 and older.  She was given an opportunity to possibly revive her career with one of the roles that made her famous and she refused to do it.  Heather Locklear was on a few shows after Melrose Place that were canceled so you would think that she would jump at the chance to do it.  Also, she hasn’t really been doing too much lately so you would think that she would want to have a chance to act again.

I read that her former co-star, Lisa Rinna has to practically beg for a small role on the updated version of the show and Heather was asked to do it, but she turned it down.  Lisa has to go to great lengths to get a role that was practically handed to Heather.  Does Heather feel that she has nothing left to do as Amanda? Did she think that her part was going to be too small? Did she not want to work with Ashlee Simpson-Weitz?  Maybe she feels that the show doesn’t really stand a chance and doesn’t want to take the risk of joining a show that may not last.  I know that it’s wishful thinking, but I hope that she changes her mind and decides to do the show after all.

That is too bad she not want to be on the new series. I like it when they bring old characters to the new shows. Just like 90210, I think it brings something to the series. It helps refresh your memory! Maybe she will change her mind in the future.

Hopefully, she will change her mind because I like her in Melrose Place

Actually I heard that the writers are saying there was no reason for them to write her in. I hope they bring back Billy and Jennifer.

I don’t think she is too old either. It is daft how you can be too old because there are parts that always need older actors so therefore why say a person is too old. It is just daft, but it is the harsh reality of show business. It is a tough, tough world. It scares me because I’m 32 so what hope of a break do I have? lol. Great blog keep up the hard work you always keep me informed which is the perfect name for your blog because that’s what you do best.
