Soap Star in Financial Trouble
Former Days Of Our Lives star Deidre Hall is facing money troubles. In court documents filed on March 9th stemming from Deidre’s divorce from her husband Stephen Sohmer, explain that Deidre’s money is running out since she’s been let go from the show. I guess actors are not immune from economic woes either since she’s dealing with this financial problem too.
Deidre claimed her monthly salary was about $28,000 while she was on Days Of Our Lives. I did the math and she was making about $336,000 a year. I thought she was one of the million dollar actors in daytime because she is one of the most popular actresses on Soap Operas. Her primary source of income came from her work on Days Of Our Lives. Now that she’s been fired, she has to utilize the assets that she’s accumulated and the income generated by those assets to maintain her and her children’s lifestyles. She has to pay her husband alimony so losing her job has made it difficult for her to make the payments that she was making before she was fired.
She is scheduled for a hearing on this matter on March 25th. I hope that it all works out for her. It would be a shame that she would have to sell things in order to make ends meet. She is a pretty good actress so I can’t believe that she can’t find another soap to join. You would think that they would jump at the chance to hire her. She has a huge fanbase that will probably follow her wherever she goes. Maybe Ken Corday will have a heart and hire her back on Days Of Our Lives. He took a lot of heat by letting her go so he can make up for it by hiring her back. I’m sure she will do it now because she needs the money.

I’m sorry to hear she is facing financial difficulties, but I think we all are. She probably has a lot more money than I will ever have. I don’t mean to be harsh or anything but, it is only cause she is in the limelight that these difficulties are being magnified. There are so many people who are homeless and have no homes and don’t even know when there next meal is going to be.
Wow, she has to pay her husband alimony. I see what Mickie is saying also. What did she do with all of her money all these years? I guess if people who make that kind of money, need to set some aside just in case!
Mily,
She was my favorite actress on that show, but I have to agree with Mickie’s, and Cindy’s comments above. The numbers ($336,000) are huge in my world, what did she do with them all these years?
I do hope things work out for her though!
How can that be?
well, recession seems to be affecting everyone
I live in one of the poorest areas of the US and working folks here can barely feed their kids here. I think Hollywood is WAY overpaid. I will reserve my compassion for people who have no assets yet are fired or laid off.
I agree with Roxie she is totally correct Hollywood is way over paid.
Seems like the current economic state is effecting everyone….
BTW I added you to my blogroll as I don’t want to lose touch as we all transition away from entrecard. Feel free to add me too if you like
Hey Mily, I got your e-mail and I was so sad to hear that you won’t be updating this blog anymore.
But I understand and respect your decision. Do you have any blogs that all of us can perhaps visit?
Mily,
Happy Easter!!!
I’m really pleased about you writing again, but I understand your reasons why.
